FOR PARENTS & GUARDIANS

Thank you for trusting us with the development of your athlete! We know you have a lot of choices when it comes to youth camps and thank you for choosing Hoosiers Connect Camps. There will be bleachers at the facility for you if you’d like to stay and watch your athlete during the camp.

Our team of coaches, led by Head Coach Jordan Basye, have put together programming that will allow your athlete to truly understand skills and put those skills into game-like settings. See below for more information as to what your athlete will be learning while they are at camp.

We will send you an email on the day of camp that includes more detailed information on each station and we’ll provide you with resources created by Coach Basye that you can use to continue practicing at home.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team by emailing camps@hoosiersconnect.com.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Basketballs will be provided. The first hour of camp will be dedicated to learning and understanding skills at stations appropriate with your age and skill level. Athletes will then practice the skills they’ve learned in game-like settings during the second hour of camp. The skills we’ll focus on include:

  • Ball Screen Actions

    • Understand how to correctly set up ball screens as a ball-handler and screener with correct spacing & angles to help create more scoring options.

  • Down Screen Actions

    • Understand how to set a good screen and read the defense to know what to do next.

  • Post Actions

    • Learn how to post up correctly and understand passing angles to feed to the post.

  • Spacing Actions & Finishing at the Rim

    • Work on driving angles and spacing to help make the best play.

  • Drive and Kick Spacing & Shooting Footwork

    • Learn when and where to relocate to get the best shot.
